Final, Free-Choice Painting Reflection: May 30, 2013
1. Descibe: I painted hands shooting lightning bolts with a color scale of blue. I used blue and black paint and a pre-bought canvas. It took me probably a day overall.
2. Evaluate: Um i believe the strong parts of my painting is the values between the blues and the silhouette affect.
3. Evaluate: I could have done a better job by finishing because I would like it to be done.
4. Describe: My theme is a silhouette and/or power. I believe the deeper meaning is power and how it can and cannot be controlled and how all of us have power of our own.
5. Describe: I believe the elements that i used are value and line because i focused on having different blues because that was the only color i was using. Line because techniqually my lines arent complete.
6. Describe: I believe the priniples that i used are contrast and emphasis because i used light vibrant blue against black. Emphasis because Its focused on the hands.
7. Metacognate: I leaned I prefer freedom because i have no limits as to what I can do but i also learned that I like a little controll and a few boundries because sometimes limitless ideas are hard to find/come up with.
Exceeding:
8. Evaluate: First i got confused because im not good at coming up with ideas. then i went to google and searched lightning bolts because I like the idea of lightning and electricty is awesome. i found the picture that sparked my idea and went from there.
9. One of the challenges i had to over come was to paint lightning and a glow that looked realistic and also fictional at the same time.
10. Yes i do believe that it is worthwhile because after having limitations and restrictions all year it was nice to choose our own project and not have to do prelims and/or research because if your like me and only come up with one idea at a time, this project was nice. I will be drawing over the summer but not painting and Im taking sculture and graphic design next year to help purdy improve them.
